Everyone,
Sleet and freezing rain has started much earlier than forecasted. This rapid change in weather conditions will force the ski area to remain closed today. While we plan to re-open tomorrow, the extent of the icing and possible power outages will be the determining factor. Please check this report before traveling to Wintergreen.
Operating plan for this week:
Monday 12/9 - open 9a-5p (call ahead)
Tuesday 12/10 - open 9a-5p
Wednesday 12/11 - open 9a-5p
Thursday 12/12- open 9a-5p
Friday 12/13 - NIGHT SESSIONS BEGIN! 9a-10p
Saturday 12/14 - 9a-10p
Sunday 12/15 - 9a-10p
SNOWMAKING NEWS -
Cold temperatures arrived overnight and our snowmaking system is back on. We expect to shut down during the storm and re-start Tuesday. Once the cold air returns Tuesday, it is forecasted to hang around through the weekend. This will provide enough snowmaking hours to improve snow conditions, increase base depths and open new terrain. We plan to have The Highlands and The Plunge open by Saturday!
