Due to the threat of severe weather forecasted in our area, the ski area could experience operating delays and sudden closures.  The ski area will not operate tonight, we will close at 5pm and reopen Thursday at 9am.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Fresh Snow and Lots of Sun!

Temperatures cooled down Sunday evening before beginning to rise early this morning.  With about 6 hours of run time, our snowguns have put out a nice layer of new snow.  Today should be a great day to ski and ride!

19 degrees at 6am, the snow surface is fantastic!

Snowmaking Temps Return Tonight!

Snow is on the way!

We have great snow conditions, we are making great snow and we are expecting 4-6 inches of natural snow throughout the day.  Elevation is likely to play an important role with this weather system.  At 7am, we have 24 degrees on the top of the mountain and Charlottesville is recording 40 degrees.  Metro areas are going to have to cool down a bunch in order to avoid rain.  Goggles are A LOT more fun than umbrellas, pack up your gear and head to Wintergreen!

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!

 

Today's report is all about SNOW.  We have great snow conditions, we are making great snow and we are expecting a bunch of natural snow on Sunday.  Weather forecasts vary with snow accumulations ranging from 6 inches to 10 inches during the day tomorrow.  Lower elevations could see some rain snow mix, but not up here.  We should see all snow, pack up your gear and head this way!


The Terrain Park will remain on Upper Dobie this weekend while we continue to make snow in the normal park location. Keep checking this report for snowmaking updates.
